Dear John:

Here are some comments arising from our meeting last week.

1. ``Relational Lisp'' is a misnomer, because it suggests a variant
of Lisp rather than a program in Lisp. I think we settled on something
like ``Lisp relational database integrator''
and agreed that the accompanying literature should mention ``intelligent
access to multiple databases''.

2. Here are some marketing ideas. Don't you wish everyone in your
company and its suppliers and customers would put their data in your
new database system? Well they, won't. With the MAD Database Integrator,
your expert systems can use it where it is --- in different machines
and different database systems.

Don't you wish your dinosaurs could talk to each other. The
MAD bird talks quite a variety of dinoaurs.

MAD is in the expert automatic communication and database buisiness.

	``We may be MAD, but''

Today companies have arrived at the 1965 model ``world of the
future'' in which a clerk in Company A hears a beep and sees a message
telling her to purchase 5,000 pencils from Company B. She turns to her
typewriter and produces a purchase order which results in a clerk in
Company B turning to her terminal and telling it to send Company A, 5,000
pencils and a bill. Shouldn't the computers talk to each other.

Communicate among machines in concepts --- not just in bytes.

I'm not sure MAD can soon be ready to announce any products aimed
at this last goal, but in a corporate position brochure, it can be mentioned.

I've a feeling that I had other advice at the time, but this is
what I can remember, and a couple points, e.g. communicating in concepts,
are new. I hope it helps.
